It’s a rare week when all the tips in either comp are right, so thank you AFL for your cooperation.
And if I’d actually had the nerve to follow through on my observation that the QLD based NRL teams would do well in a round based in Brisbane that would have gone much better than the ways things actually turned out. And Saint George are dead to me. The next game they win will be the week after their coach gets the sack.
Oh well.

Local free newspaper Lifestyle 1 featured this article its latest front page.
The reference in the first sentence to South Australia being “in the throes of a tourism boom” caught my eye.
Dictionary.com provides a couple of definitions for ‘throes’ – “a condition of violent pangs, pain, or convulsions – death throes” or
“in the throes of struggling with great effort with – a country in the throes of revolution.”
In the timeless words of Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride, “You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means.”
The paper actually repeats the whole section again inside with additional text.
Maybe it is intentional.
It doesn’t make tourism boom appear to be a pleasant experience.
