Footy Tipping 2017 – NRL Round 23 / AFL Round 21

NRL was 50/50. Melbourne looking good.
AFL apparently produced a perfect round of tips for the first time this year. I imagine lots of others got that result as well.

Footy Tipping 2017 – NRL Round 21 / AFL Round 19

NRL tips were let down last round by the Lottoland Eagles.
AFL demonstrate Port Adelaide are pretenders with a great draw. Adelaide are the real deal. Greater Western Sydney desperately need to get their A team on the park. Collingwood are trying to torture us about Nathan Buckley’s future.

NRL (last round 7/8; season tally 97/144)
Penrith
Cronulla
Brisbane
Saint George
Canberra
Easts
Melbourne
Gold Coast

AFL (last round 5/9; season tally 89/153)

Footy Tipping 2017 – NRL Round 20 / AFL Round 18

Not much to report on this round or last.
Adelaide and Geelong is an interesting game. Geelong could well win, and that would cement their credentials as contenders. With Adelaide (and the other top teams) it’s still too hard to say they’ve made themselves favourites for the flag.
NRL really only settles into the post Origin phase of the premiership, so now we’ll find out who really is serious. (Besides Melbourne, who are always serious)

NRL (last round 4/6; season tally 90/136)
Brisbane
Easts
Cronulla
Penrith
Melbourne
North Queensland
Manly
Paramatta

AFL (last round 7/9; season tally 84/144)
Adelaide (at home)
Essendon
Port Adelaide
Western Bulldogs
Sydney
Hawthorn
Greater Western Sydney
West Coast
Carlton

Footy Tipping 2017 – NRL Round 19 / AFL Round 17

Well, any year Queensland win State Of Origin everything else is just a bonus.
Nothing much else to be said about last weekend’s results, except for Greater Western Sydney’s extraordinary effort in achieving a draw in consecutive games.
That being said both competitions should now be settling into some sort of stability as representative games and byes are over and finals beckon.

NRL (last round 3/4; season tally 86/130)
New Zealand
Canberra
Brisbane
Cronulla
Manly
North Queensland

AFL (last round 6/9; season tally 77/135)
Saint Kilda
Geelong
Port Adelaide
Collingwood
Greater Western Sydney
Adelaide
Richmond
Western Bulldogs
West Coast

Newspaper Shortage

Took a while to get a newspaper today.
They seemed to be sold out everywhere.

State Of Origin Game 3 2017

Victory feels better when you’re sitting in Queensland. Two years in a row now.
And you even get to see the after game broadcast.
Honestly, I doubted they’d do it. But it was such a dominant performance in this final game.
No Jonathan Thurston, no Greg Inglis, no Matt Scott, no Darius Boyd, no Anthony Milford.
Coach Kevin Walters made tough calls on selections for game two and three and got them right.
New South Wales will wonder what they have to do.
