Today we drove from Mount Gambier to Dubbo.
Here’s a picture of the map (in reverse if you’re paying attention).
Tomorrow will be a similar distance as we go past Brisbane and settle for the night in Maryborough.
I really want to stay on major highways.
So, four days after getting home from Queensland, and then with a quick trip to Adelaide and back, we’re driving to Queensland again today.
Last Friday my mother entered hospital after spending the night on the floor after a fall. She was also suffering from an infection, dehydration and seemed to be behind on her medications. She has been somewhat confused and seems to have ‘lost’ periods of time in her memory ranging from ten to thirty years. Scans have indicated ongoing deterioration in her brain tissue that may account for that loss, and might also indicate she may not recover it. Or not. Her living arrangements will be changing, we’re not sure what level of care she needs. Margaret and I have decided to drive up and support my sister and see what use we can be for a few weeks. Driving gives us a car and some mobility while we’re up there and is easier than trying to work out travel arrangments. You’ll read bits and pieces through the usual sources.
Because some days you just need to watch a kitten chase ducks for twenty seconds.
By the way, I’m driving to Queensland tomorrow. We decided to go this afternoon.
Tell you all more along the way.
I need to watch the kitten again.
One of my daughters and her cohort led the school chapel service last week, and among a very satisfying selection of inclusions featured the song Made Alive.
Turned out I had the album Citizens (the group are now called Citizens And Saints) that it featured on.
Resources including chord charts here.
I once was dead in sin,
Alone and hopeless
A child of wrath I walked,
Condemned in darkness
But Your mercy brought new life,
And in your love and kindness
Raised me up with Christ,
And made me righteous
You have bought me back with the riches of
Your amazing grace and relentless love
I’m made alive forever with you life forever by your grace I’m saved
Lord you are the light,
That broke the darkness
You satisfy my soul
When I am heartless
If ever I forget,
That you’re my true identity,
Show me who I am,
And help me to believe
My sin has been erased
I’ll never be the same
Here they are.
