The High Priest represented the people before God as a succession of called individuals who shared the frailties of their brethren; Jesus represents his people before God as an enduring and royal appointment and his character has learned empathy with our frailties through his faultless character.

For those unable to join us at MGPC, the service will be live-streamed.

So, here we are, a little late, and, in one case, in a once in a life-time place.
For the AFL it is a little ironic perhaps that two Victorian teams are playing a grand final in Brisbane, the Victorian teams having experienced unprecedented levels of disruption throughout the year. For sentimental reasons I select Geelong.
Months ago it seemed the NRL were premature and ill-judged in their determination to resume their season. And yet games were played and disruptions were largely caused by the more predictable lack of discipline of the players rather than the unpredictable spread of the virus. Penrith have proved themselves at every test so far, and only one remains. For reasons that are not so sentimental I select Melbourne.

Grace, and all the other tracks on Melanie Penn’s More Alive Vol. 1 are encouraging and inviting.
An aim and a sentiment that is very welcome in 2020.

Because He loved me my savior died on the cross was crucified
No greater love for mortal man has ever been known
Oh praise His dear name He loves me so
Now I am His, He’s mine I know
He suffered it all because He loved me

The Barefoot Contessa begins and ends at a cemetery. That should be a hint.

Characters that evoke pity rather than sympathy. A most unromantic view of the lifestyles of the beautiful, the famous, the rich, and the privileged.

Part of my Humphrey Bogart collection.
