Hebrews chapter 5 challenges disciples of Jesus to grow in their understanding of who Jesus is to enable them to always find their security in the only person who can be humanity’s mediator with God, and to prevent them from going astray.
Jeremiah 33 begins with repetitions of the promises God had revealed about the judgment and restoration of his people. In repeating these promises God reveals his compassion toward his people, who he knows will doubt them due to the situations in which they will find themselves and because they seem too good to be true. These repeated promises also bring focus on the scope of God’s grace as being for all peoples.
