Of all the Coen Brothers movies, Raising Arizona was the best known that I’d never seen.
The key elements developed in their later works are there.
The cast members that will return (though not Nicolas Cage) add their talents to the tale.
And the mixture of humour and heart that marks their comedies is there to be enjoyed.

Jesus’ return is certain, but the timing won’t be known. Jesus’ disciples live with that expectation and encourage each other in preparedness whatever the circumstances.

With the early conclusion of the South Australian shutdown, MGPC will be gathering for worship. We’re having a one week pause in our Hebrews series and this weeks sermon is from 1 Thessalonians 5. For those unable to join us at MGPC, the service will be live-streamed.

Tonight we’re watching what seems to me to be the perfect movie for emerging from COVID lockdown in South Australia.

A lyric video featuring Matt Maher singing his song Run To The Father.

You saw my condition
Had a plan from the start
Your Son for redemption
The price for my heart
I don’t have a context
For that kind of love
I don’t understand
I can’t comprehend
All I know is I need You
I run to the Father, I fall into grace
I’m done with the hiding, no reason to wait
My heart needs a surgeon, my soul needs a friend
So I’ll run to the Father
Again and again
