Andrew Garfield is a nominee for best actor in the 2022 Academy Awards.
Not for his role as Jim Bakker in “The Eyes Of Tammy Faye” (not even as Peter Parker in “Spider-Man No Way Home”)
Apparently he’s nominated for his role in “Tick, Tick … Boom!”
Which must be something special, because he’s really good as the prosperity preacher.
Jessica Chastain has him covered as the title character, but really each just seem to push the other on.

This mid-sixties version of I’d Rather Have Jesus by Loretta Lynn has a simplicity that appeals to me rather than later, more uptempo version she recorded that I own.

The AFL was either half a week late starting, or is getting in half a week sooner, with the competition starting on a Wednesday night in the middle of March.
The NRL started with a predictably shambolic set of results last weekend.
None of which have any impact on selections for this week.

It may appear the enforced separations and periods of isolation of the last two years would be an introvert’s dream.
But it has not proven so.
Whereas intentional withdrawal provides refreshment and energisation, isolation fuels anxiety and drains emotional and physical energy.
Being alone bears its positive fruit when it is a choice.
And when that choice includes the desire to return to those we love to share that fruit anew.

From Andrew Peterson:

At odds with my great love of solitude is my fear of isolation.
Solitude is a choice. Isolation is inflicted.
+++
The pleasure of solitude is not loneliness, but the nearness of love.
+++
Isolation is finding yourself alone when you don’t want to be.
