The new footbridge over the Brisbane River is impressive even while under construction. It should be remarkable to walk across when completed. The final suspended spans remain to be added.

The movie Hunt For The Wilderpeople is inspired by the book Wild Pork And Watercress.

The book has its own narrative qualities that would be interesting if someone made it into a movie in its own right. It’s a good book.

Which in no way diminishes my love for the movie.

The church I visited yesterday sang the hymn Yes I Know (Come Ye Sinners Lost And Hopeless).
I hadn’t sung or even heard it before. Which doesn’t happen a lot.
Anna Waterman’s early 20th century composition has been found in a smaller number of hymn collections without having a peak of popularity or use.

Here’s a version by The Gaither Vocal Band.

Here’s a representative set of lyrics:
1
Come, ye sinners, lost and hopeless,
Jesus’ blood can make you free;
For He saved the worst among you,
When He saved a wretch like me.
Refrain:
And I know, yes, I know
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean,
And I know, yes, I know
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean.
2
To the faint He giveth power,
Through the mountains makes a way;
Findeth water in the desert,
Turns the night to golden day.
Refrain
3
In temptation He is near thee,
Holds the pow’rs of hell at bay;
Guides you to the path of safety,
Gives you grace for every day.
Refrain
4
He will keep thee while the ages
Roll throughout eternity;
Though earth hinders and hell rages,
All must work for good to thee.
Refrain
