Christina Rosetti’s sublime poetry of In The Bleak Midwinter and Gustav Holst’s melody CRANHAM expressed with Fernando Ortega’s assured vocals.

The lyrics:
1
In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.
2
Our God, heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.
3
Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
but his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the beloved with a kiss.
4
What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him: give my heart.

A local pizzaria of note has offerings entitled ‘Prawn Star’ and ‘Saucy Pig’.

For home dinner with daughters my gluten-free tributes are ‘Prawn Supernova’ and ‘Saucy Whole Hog’. Overkill Is Underrated.

Pre-fab Christian pop/worship band I Am They have released a third album Faithful God.
It seems they are settling a longer term membership and sound, which is moving away from the distinctive acoustic folk sound of their earliest releases to a more heavily produced and polished pop sound. More for listening than singing along with.

Here’s the title track Faithful God.

The lyrics:

I am surrounded
On every side, can’t see the light of day
But I am persuaded
Beyond all hope, You won’t let go of me
I stake my claim
On every word You say
You will not be late

I will sing through fire and thunder
Cause You are on my side
I trust You with my life
I know my story, it isn’t over
Even against all odds
You are a faithful God
That’s who You are
You are a faithful God

The darkest of weather
Though I can’t see, I still believe You’re good So I’m moving forward
Through crashing waves, I know I’m safe with You
You hold my life
You hear my cry
With every breath inside

I am convinced
That Your promises will hold together
And I will dwell
In the hope of Your love forever

Come Thou Redeemer Of The Earth is J. M. Neale’s translation of words from St. Ambrose.
There are more verses than the ones featured here, and I suspect some inclusions or variations may focus more or less on Mary, the mother of Jesus.
This word set seems to strike a helpful balance.

The lyrics:
1.
Come, Thou Redeemer of the earth,
And manifest Thy virgin birth:
Let every age adoring fall;
Such birth befits the God of all.
2.
Begotten of no human will,
But of the Spirit, Thou art still
The Word of God in flesh arrayed,
The promised Fruit to man displayed.
3.
The virgin womb that burden gained
With virgin honor all unstained;
The banners there of virtue glow;
God in His temple dwells below.
4.
O equal to the Father, Thou!
Gird on Thy fleshly mantle now;
The weakness of our mortal state
With deathless might invigorate.
5.
Thy cradle here shall glitter bright,
And darkness breathe a newer light,
Where endless faith shall shine serene,
And twilight never intervene.
8.
All laud to God the Father be,
All praise, eternal Son, to Thee;
All glory, as is ever meet,
To God the Holy Paraclete.
