I saw something called a chocolate blackout cake: chocolate cake, chocolate pudding in the layers, and chocolate ganache coating.

I made a variation with gluten free vanilla cake (fortified with vanilla pudding mix), vanilla and salted caramel pudding in the layers, and a sour-cream Caramilk ganache coating. The fruit iss raspberries. There were also Caramilk and peanut butter flavored chips.

It went alright. There is a significant amount left over.

We enter the twilight zone of byes and State of Origin, exacerbated by Melbourne’s unexpected lock-down.
NRL teams are missing players from the two squads this week.
A Queensland win on Wednesday would be nice, as would having some idea of what the team is going to be.

If you’ve got Netflix I utterly recommend Somebody Feed Phil.
Featuring Phil Rosenthal, who I’d never really heard of. (He’s most famous for being a creative mind behind Everybody Loves Raymond.)
It is a delight.
Lots of food from a different location every episode.
Phil’s complete delight in enjoying food and people who produce the food and the people with whom he eats the food is disarmingly engaging.
Lovely people, lovely person, great food in great locations.
Engaging and uplifting viewing.
