Not long ago we used to have a nine hour round trip in order to have a 90 to 120 minute meeting.

We still meet face to face but the majority of meetings are remote with two hubs and individuals able to join as well. Higher attendance levels and a lot less travel time.

I’m fond of saying that you’re where you are because that’s the result of the choices you’ve been making.
Except for me.
My state has nothing to do with my choices.
I’m pretty sure.

We’re watching The West Wing again.
It’s been a while.
I don’t know why its been so long.

The first time I discovered it was during Season Four when it was showing late on Saturdays on Channel 2 (ABC Australia – back when they only had one channel).
It wouldn’t take me long to realise there was a lot better material that had already been shown that I needed to catch up with.
That involved buying DVDs (and waiting for seasons to be released).
(That sounds like prehistory these days. It’s only twenty years ago.)

The first three – (maybe four) seasons are the best written television drama.
The dialogue is wonderful. The plots give them space to shine.
The characters interact as an ensemble, even if the ascendency of Martin Sheen may not have been the original plan.
But it’s the USA. The President was always going to end up the lead.

We’ve romped through season one, and season two is the best of them all.

God Is Over All comes from CityAlight, with Colin Buchanan. (Another group City Light also have a song with the same title – weird)

Anyway, this is part of a group of songs that are aimed at all ages.
Which is what all church songs should be.

The lyrics:
1
God You hold the world in hand
Mountains move at Your command
Yet my needs You will provide
As a father loves his child
Chorus
God is over all
God is over all
I will sing for it is well
My God is over all
2
God You saw the sin in me
For you reign in majesty
Jesus died to make me clean
Jesus rose to set me free
Chorus
3
God above all time and space
You are never far away
For in Jesus I can see
How you are a friend to me
Chorus
