I’m trying to include some advent-y songs early in the month.
Here’s Zechariah And The Least Expected Places by Ben Thomas.

Dropped in at a Camp Karnkendi committee meeting early this evening.

Summer hasn’t quite arrived in Nelson, but the hospitality, as always, was warm.

Christmas Songs starts on December 2 this year.
Now, I know that technically in Church music terms the weeks before Christmas are not meant to be filled with carols, but too bad.
I’m not posting carols in January.
As always, I begin with Andrew Peterson’s Behold The Lamb Of God album, which has been re-recorded and released a month or two ago.
Peterson and friends perform this live year after year, and the re-recording is a wonderful way to hear their familiarity with the songs, with each other, and to mark their growth in skill and maturity as musicians.
It’s available on streaming services; sadly physical media probably won’t be available in Australia until after Christmas, unless you order from overseas.

Here’s the album on YouTube playlist with lyric videos.

I watched Aberfan, the third episode of the third season of The Crown tonight.
Anyone reading this who has seen it will know that the only hymn to listen to tonight is Jesus, Lover Of My Soul, sung to the tune Aberswyth.

This is the soundtrack elements from the episode.
