This rendition of Psalm 116 features lyrics by Kate Bluett which I presume have been set to music and sung by Keiko Ying.
I often use words from Psalm 116 at services when we share the Lord’s Supper.
12
What shall I render to the Lord
for all his benefits to me?
13
I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord,
14
I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.

Though I am small and brought so low,
My nothingness you save.
With kindness more than I can know,
You take me from my grave.
So here I give to you my soul
To rest within your grace,
And while I live, I still behold
The glory of your face.

When sorrows bind me once again,
My God, I’ll trust in you
I’ll raise the cup of righteousness
When all my vows come due.

Morning and Evening services conducted on October 11 with Mount Gambier Presbyterian Church.

Hebrews chapter 3 continues our series called Better. Moses led God’s people toward the fulfilment of his promise. Jesus brings God’s people into the fulfilment of his promise, being that promise in himself.

Jeremiah 32 concludes with God asking a question. When God asks a question it’s never because he needs information. Rather, the heart of the question points our the seeming impossibility of judgment and mercy being fully expressed toward the same group of people. It may appear impossible, but nothing is impossible with God. Grace is more than amazing, it is incomprehensible apart from God.

Patient Kingdom is from Sandra McCracken’s album of the same name.
Though not specifically a congregational song, the lyrics and melody invite corporate expression and singing.

The lyrics:
Chorus 1.
Let my soul rise up to meet You
As the day rises to the sun
Let my soul rise up to meet You
Let that patient kingdom come
Verse 1.
When’s the last time you felt steady in the chaos?
Hear the sound when the seed falls to earth
Is it time to give up your destination?
Slow me down, let love do its work
Chorus.
Verse 2.
As the trees and hummingbirds lead the chorus
They work so hard, and their center so still
Is it time for a change in direction?
Slow me down where I bend to Your will
Chorus.
Bridge.
Slow me down
Slow me down
Let love do its work
Chorus 2.
Let my soul rise up to meet You
As the day rises to the sun
Let my soul rise up to meet You
Let that patient kingdom come
