DC Comic’s The Flash resolved a subplot wherein Barry Allen had promised to inform his fiancé Iris West about his secret identity in a novel way. Barry had been figuratively dragging his heels failing to keep his word for a year of stories until he finally told Iris on their first anniversary.
The off-panel revelation was trumped by Iris’ matter-of-fact statement that she had known the secret since their wedding night because Barry talked in his sleep. An interesting reference to married life in 1967. This somehow also enabled Barry to rationalize that he had kept his promise and wasn’t a rat. Sure, Barry.
Also noteworthy is that artist Carmine Infantino, having pencilled all of The Flash stories since 1956, would conclude his run on the series with the panels that finish this tale and would not return until 1981’s issue 296.
To enable as many guests as possible to all be in the room for my son’s wedding tomorrow we’re doing it stand-up in the church hall.
It’s come up very well. Most people will want to sit in the hall instead of the chapel on Sunday.
