Your Heart Was Set by Caroline Cobb featuring Sean Aaron Carter.
Humble Jesus
I see you prayin’ in the garden
I see the blood and tears fallin’
As you face all the darkness
And you take my cup
But your heart was set
On the hard road ahead
Though you’d pay such a heavy price
Now my table is set
With the wine and the bread
And your joy it is somehow mine
A very long weekend of games, a little complicated by changes to venues as a result of the lockdown in Brisbane.
Doesn’t really change the tips though.

In addition to remember the dinner party at Bethany, the Wednesday of Easter week is also known as ‘Spy Wednesday.’
Coincidentally, in addition to reading about this earlier today, one of the residents of an aged care residential home I took a service at this afternoon asked if I knew it was Spy Wednesday. His readings today had touched on this. Why? by Michael Card, does not confine itself to the betrayal but considers it as part of a grouping of seemingly incongruous details that are part of the Easter narrative.
Card’s song observes that the incongruity serves to illuminate the ultimate incongruity: redemption accomplished through the humiliation and death of God’s Son.
Why did it have to be a friend
Who chose to betray the Lord
Why did he use a kiss to show them
That’s not what a kiss is for
Only a friend can betray a friend
A stranger has nothing to gain
And only a friend comes close enough
To ever cause so much pain.
The Wednesday of Easter Week recalls the dinner part at Bethany where Jesus was served by the ever caring Martha, who was celebrating the return to life of her brother Lazarus. Their sister Mary made her presence known by the provision of a lavish gift, the aroma of which has wafted down through the centuries. In Memory Of Her Love by Michael Card, is a song about the occasion.
She has done all she could do
Pouring perfume on My body
She has prepared Me for the tomb
Though she never knew
This is what she came to do
Let her be, it’s beautiful to me
And you will have the poor
They’ll be with you always
But can’t you see, you’ll not always have Me
The fragrance of her gift
Will always be remembered
