I just looked and saw I got eight out of eight for NRL tips last weekend. Oh well, even though it can’t happen two weeks in a row I’ll keep on tipping.
AFL kept running on seven out of nine, Carlton winning was not a shock, Hawthorn winning was though.
It’s the time of year when retirements are being announced.
In the AFL anyway.
In the NRL players seem to move to the UK super league and retire from there. Or they take up boxing.

After encountering AI (not) Johnny Cash I thought I should listen to the real thing. (At least while that’s a relatively easy thing to discern)
Although this rendition of Where We’ll Never Grow Old demonstrates that Cash provides an unaffected vocal, allowing the words, melody, and meaning to do the work.

If you wonder what Artificial Intelligence (AI) can do and perhaps think it’s far removed from everyday life, here’s a clip where someone has used AI to sample the voice of Johnny Cash and then used that as the vocal over some songs that Cash never recorded.

It does provide insight into why actors are striking in the US, and part of their claim involves the use of their likenesses and voices.
And this is the early days of AI.
Here’s not Johnny Cash and Barbie Girl.
(Curiously, I’ve always wondered what a Johnny Cash cover of Nothing Compares To You would sound like, now it’s achievable)

God Of Every Grace.
If you like Getty Music, you’ll like this.
Id didn’t hear that really stands out in the lyrics and melody that hooks the listener in.

The lyrics:
1.
O let not this world of sorrows
Steal my only hope away
For the power of Your gospel
Shines within this jar of clay
In affliction You bring wisdom
That my comforts can displace
How my true and greatest treasure
Is in You the God of grace
Chorus.
Now to the God of every grace
Who counts my tears, who holds my days
I sing through sorrows, sing with faith
O praise the God of every grace
2.
Weary with the weight I carry
Give me wings of faith to rise
For You know each grief that lingers
Through the watches of the night
Surely You have borne our sufferings
At the cross took up our pain
And You lead us on to glory
As we trust You, God of grace
3.
There’s a dawning hope before us
That I know is soon to break
As I wait upon Your mercy
Which will swallow every ache
Cries of joy and songs of victory
When we enter heaven’s gates
All Your children home together
All with You the God of grace
Chorus.
Repeat chorus.
Outro.
O praise the God of every grace
O praise the God of every grace
