Crackerjack is an amusing movie featuring a number of memorable Australian actors, many who have departed over the near 20 years since it was made.

There are aspects of the club membership interactions that evoke all sorts of memories that are familiar to anyone with relationships among groups composed of folk from similar backgrounds.

It was good to be with Mount Gambier Presbyterian and sing praise to God with them today.

In times of grief, simplicity and brevity are key.

The lyrics
1
God of mercy, through the ages
Ever patient, ever kind
He forgave me, a lost and loveless soul
He embraced me as a child
Chorus
Lift your weary voice to sing his praises
Set your trembling feet on solid ground
Come and put your trust in his faithfulness
The God of mercy, the God of love
2
Come you broken, come you burdened
To the fountain deep and wide
Taste his goodness, let his peace flood in
He is calling for his child
Chorus

Westminster Larger Catechism – Lord’s Day 46

Q & A 190
Q What do we pray for in the first petition? (of the Lord’s prayer)
A In the first petition (which is, Hallowed be your name), acknowledging the utter inability and indisposition that is in ourselves and all men to honor God aright, we pray, that God would by his grace enable and incline us and others to know, to acknowledge, and highly to esteem him, his titles, attributes, ordinances, Word, works, and: Whatsoever he is pleased to make himself known by; and to glorify him in thought, word, and deed: that he would prevent and remove atheism, ignorance, idolatry, profaneness, and: Whatsoever is dishonorable to him; and, by his overruling providence, direct and dispose of all things to his own glory.
