This Sunday at Mount Gambier Presbyterian – Not Yours, But You.
Paul shows the Corinthians that Christian discipleship and fellowship is not about personal gain, but about the personal relationships Christians share as we follow Jesus.

For those unable to join us at MGPC, the service will be live-streamed.
The video is available at our website and youtube channel.

Gabriel’s Message by Matt Maher.

From an old Basque carol translated by Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924) and arranged by Edgar Pettman (1892)
I’d shared another version of this recorded by Moya Brennan back in the day.

The lyrics:

The angel Gabriel from Heaven came
His wings as drifted snow, His eyes as flame
“All hail” said he “thou lowly maiden Mary
Most highly favored lady,”
Gloria,

“For known a blessed mother thou shalt be
All generations laud and honor thee
Thy Son shall be Emmanuel, by seers foretold
Most highly favored maid”
Gloria,

Then gentle Mary meekly bowed her head
“To me be as it pleaseth God” she said,
“My soul shall laud and magnify His holy name.”
Most highly favored lady,
Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria

Thanks to a comment yesterday, here’s Did You Know? from EMU Music.
We did use it for a couple of Christmases when it came out, and then it slipped from mind.
Good thing that the lyrics were composed by Simone Richardson, so it escapes an annual accusation of man-splaining. (cough Mary, Did You Know? cough)
Also, the lyrical cleverness of the composition moves from Mary to the shepherds to an allusion of Simeon and Anna demonstrates that each praised God for what they did know (incomplete as that may have been) and invites those of us who know so much more to join their song.
