September 1 is the first day of Spring.
My social media also provides me with memories from this day in years past.
In 2018 Margaret and I were holidaying on the Gold Coast and we decided to get my Apple Watch National Park walk award in an actual National Park in Springbrook.
It was a lovely walk.
Happily enough today was so pleasant in Mount Gambier we were able to go for an late afternoon walk around the Blue Lake.

These photos are an example of what I wake up to with my social media hopefully unaware that I’m currently not on holidays. Or able to go anywhere much if I was. Remember – these are not from today.

From time to time I see loved ones commenting on social media posts relating to COVID.
I generally text message them something along the lines of this video.

Mac Powell was the voice of Christian music group Third Day.
He also has one of the voices that I dream of having. (That or Ron Kenoly)
I haven’t really followed him since Third Day finished up, but it seems he’s returning to his roots in a few different ways with an upcoming release New Creation.

This song is called Love Is The Reason.

Father Of Mercies is by Olly Knight and Ben Slee, who I don’t think I’ve heard from before, but this seems like a very suitable song for present circumstances.

This acoustic version was the one I first heard

This is the original

The lyrics
1
Father of mercies, the God of all comfort
He draws alongside us in times of distress
If ever we feel that our God has abandoned
We look to the cross where for us Jesus bled
Chorus
All our hope is found in You
You’ve delivered us from death to life
All our hope is found in You
Father of mercies, God of my life
2
Father of mercies, the wellspring of kindness
He comforts his people and lifts up their heads
Renewed by the depths of our Father’s compassion
We offer His love and the hope we possess
3
We share in the sufferings of Jesus our Saviour
He knows all our sorrows and shares our laments
Wherever He leads us this comfort will follow
We trust in the Saviour who raises the dead
We trust in the Saviour who raises the dead
