The NRL are doing what they really should do for all three State of Origin Games – giving all the teams a weekend off and playing the game as a stand alone. (Sunday night isn’t great, but there you go).
AFL has a full round, but people in Brisbane and Sydney will still class this as a football-less weekend, such is the penetration of those games in the consciousness of those markets. The AFL should have divided the fixture in half and played all games in those two towns to try and create some impact.
Oh yeah, I’ll pick Queensland for game 2.
