I didn’t see Geelong and Sydney as Grandfinalists early on. It doesn’t seem surprising. They are the two best run clubs in the competition. So it’s not expected that Geelong would win the grand final, but there it is. They will.
In the NRL it will be interesting to see if the two teams who have had the week off will win. I’m tipping they will. Penrith are too good, and Parramatta can’t sustain the intensity they’ve shown over the last two games.

John Hamblin was an Australian actor who died on September 21.
Look up his accomplishments. They represent a great range on both stage and television.
Notably he performed on Australia’ Play School, a long-running children’s tv show on our public broadcaster, the ABC.
His sense of humour was evident in his work, providing much entertainment for those outside the target age-range of the show while never condescending to the pre-schoolers at whom the show was aimed.

While it lasts on YouTube, take 6 minutes to enjoy his largely ad-libbed tale about a saucepan (pot) that was missing its lid. The video picks up partway in, but you’ll get the idea.

This song popped up in something I was reading. The artist is known as Weyes Blood, and I don’t know anything about her other work.
It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody expresses the widespread sense of isolation and worthlessness in an age when we feel continually on display.

Living in the wake of overwhelming changes
We’ve all become strangers
Even to ourselves
We just can’t help
We can’t see from far away
To know that every wave might not be the same
But its all apart of one big thing

Oh it’s not just me, it’s not just me
It’s not just me, it’s everybody

Mercy is the only
Cure for being so lonely
Has a time ever been more revealing
That the people are hurting
Oh it’s not just me
I guess it’s everybody
Yes we all bleed the same way

Oh it’s not just me, it’s not just me
It’s not just me, It’s everybody

Feeling lonely is not the same thing as craving company.
