So, four days after getting home from Queensland, and then with a quick trip to Adelaide and back, we’re driving to Queensland again today.

Last Friday my mother entered hospital after spending the night on the floor after a fall. She was also suffering from an infection, dehydration and seemed to be behind on her medications. She has been somewhat confused and seems to have ‘lost’ periods of time in her memory ranging from ten to thirty years. Scans have indicated ongoing deterioration in her brain tissue that may account for that loss, and might also indicate she may not recover it. Or not. Her living arrangements will be changing, we’re not sure what level of care she needs. Margaret and I have decided to drive up and support my sister and see what use we can be for a few weeks. Driving gives us a car and some mobility while we’re up there and is easier than trying to work out travel arrangments. You’ll read bits and pieces through the usual sources.
