Thanks to technology and the Presbytery of South-West Victoria we were able to view the induction service of my friend (and predecessor here in Mount Gambier) into the charge of Heywood-Portland.

If cross-border travel was not restricted a contingent of us would have ventured over in person, so this is a good substitute.

I heard this song a month or two ago and the lyric from the chorus sums it up.
My home on this earth is not a place, it’s a person.
And as of today we’ve been a home together for 37 years.

Oh, home, let me come home
Home is whenever I’m with you
Oh, home, let me come home
Home is wherever I’m with you

This is a cover by Drew and Ellie Holcomb, which is where I heard it first.

This is the original Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

The seasons for all football codes just keep getting more and more irregular.
It will be interesting to see if the teams who more consistently travel and spend time away from home manage better than the teams that more consistently play at venues that allow them to commute from home.
Particularly if this stretches out for some time.

Another song from Bellwether Arts’ EP of scriptures songs, this time a setting of Psalm 61 called Lead Me To The Rock, featuring Andy Bast.

Let me live with you forever
In the shelter of your wings
I will priase your name my whole life long
And everyday I’ll sing.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, higher than I
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, higher than I
