A day begun very early viewing Australia score the last six runs required to win their test match. (I’d been following the score in the dark without watching because I didn’t want to jinx it) as concluded watching the second half of the second half of Queensland winning their series clinching State of Origin game (when I was sure that I probably wouldn’t jinx it).

Not that I’m superstitious.

This is the stuff of nightmares.
What type of mind could even conceive of this, even as a joke?

Our God Will Go Before Us from the Getty Music has the appearance of a sending song.
Something to sing at the conclusion of worship as people as the gathered people of God scatter into the world around them.
Of course, God’s people are never alone.
It’s also different from most songs as it starts with a refrain and then leads into its verses.

The lyrics:

Refrain:
Our God will go before us
And guide us by his presence
What confidence this promise is
We will never walk alone
1.
Through unknown paths, through shadows
Our hearts fear not tomorrow
For every step his faithfulness
Is the truth that lights our way
Refrain.
2.
Though evil forms against us
All heaven will defend us
The gates of hell shall not prevail
For the battle is the Lord’s
Refrain.
3.
Now send us with your presence,
And lead us on to heaven,
Where songs of sorrow strain no more
And our every breath is praise
O let our every breath be praise
Refrain.
Repeat refrain.
