It is a mistake to think that Jesus brings pastoral ministry to the church as one distinct group meeting the needs of another distinct group.
There is only one group, one people.
Feeding Jesus’ sheep is a relationship of mutuality and community.

After having asked Peter three times, “Do you love me.” Jesus says, “Feed my lambs, look after my sheep, feed my sheep.” Having been assured of Peter’s love, Jesus gives him the task of min-istry. In the context of our own culture we might hear this in a very individualistic way, as if Peter now was being sent on a heroic mission. But when Jesus speaks about shepherding, he does not want us to think about a brave, lonely shepherd who takes care of a large flock of obedient sheep. In many ways, he makes it clear that ministry is a communal and mutual experience..

Those Who Fear The Lord is Wendell Kimbrough’s presentation of Psalm 112.

The lyrics:

Those who fear the Lord love what he commands;
See their children grow mighty in the land.
They will be the light, when the darkness falls;
They will be the help everyone else calls.

Storms will surely come; enemies will rage
Those who fear the Lord will not be afraid
Look into the future, far as you can see
Those who fear the Lord will be flourishing

Wicked men will grow angrier with hate
Those who fear the Lord, they will still give grace
Steady in their hearts, giving to the poor
Merciful and just—those who fear the Lord

Storms will surely come; enemies will rage
Those who fear the Lord will not be afraid
Look into the future, far as you can see
Those who fear the Lord will be flourishing

Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day 39

104.
Q. What does God require in the fifth commandment?
A. That I show honor, love, and faithfulness to my father and mother and to all who are set in authority over me; that I submit myself with respectful obedience to all their careful instruction and discipline; and that I also bear patiently their failures, since it is God’s will to govern us by their hand.

The biggest problem with being able to make pizza at home is making pizza at home over and over again.

Flour, water, yeast, salt, tomato, mozzarella, basil, (and Serrano ham), a little chili olive oil. And a light sprinkle of parmesan.

worth repeating tomorrow night, again.
