New Frontier was a DC comic book limited series by Darwyn Cooke that sought to tell the origin of the Justice League in 1950’s Cold War United States.
Cooke wrote and drew stories that sought to entertain and uplift. He died too young, and it’s a sadness that there are no more stories to be told by him.
The animated adaption of his story doesn’t reach the level of his work, but evokes much of the story’s principle beats in a satisfying way.
