Australia has a history of planning inland cities that never get built, or achieve the scale of size intended.
Monarto, the Multi-Function Polis, Albury-Wodonga, Canberra.
Though not a failure on every count, California City demonstrates that if you build it they won’t always come, even if they’ve bought the land.
