At mgpc we’ve been blessed by the testimony of one of our families as they’re going through a season of great trial.
I’ve been trying to encourage folk to know that the faith which has encouraged us so much is the fruit of purposeful Christian discipleship.
This quote from John Flavel expresses it as well as anything I’ve been able to say:

“A saving, though an immethodical knowledge of Christ, will bring us to heaven, John 17: 2, but a regular and methodical, as well as a saving knowledge of him, will bring heaven into us, Col. 2: 2, 3.”
