songsforlent240coverOne of the nice things about not observing Lent is that I can enjoy New York Hymns’ album Songs For Lent all year round.
I recommended this last year when it was released and available at Noisetrade.
Now it’s been posted as a free download at Bandcamp.
Recorded as a collective project, it should appeal if you like the works of Red Mountain Church, Indelible Grace, Bifrost Arts, and Sojourn Music.
It has a folk, alternative, indy sort of vibe over the twenty tracks.
It is composed of a collections of songs for the season of Lent, curated from the Sacred Harp hymnal for the traditional stations of the cross.
If you struggle with that, then listen to it after Easter and you should be okay.
I imagine you can still donate money for it if you wish.
Have a listen.
