I’m currently reading Paul Tripp’s book Dangerous Calling, which is about confronting the unique challenges of pastoral ministry. More precisely, about recognising how pastors can fall into spiritual pitfalls which we’d guard against anyone else stumbling into, but which are almost hard-wired into our job descriptions. It’s a challenging read, best taken in small doses. I’ll write a review sometime next week.
I continue to be thankful for friendship and prayer which so many direct toward me.
At Ligonier Nicholas Batzig suggests five areas of prayer for pastors in 2013. You can read his comments on each of these at the original post:
1. Pray for their spiritual protection from the world, the flesh and the Devil.
2. Pray for their deliverance from the physical attacks of the world and the Devil.
3. Pray for doors to be opened to them for the spread of the gospel.
4. Pray that they might have boldness and power to preach the gospel.
5. Pray that they might have a spirit of wisdom and understanding.
