In Queensland take-away fried fish is normally coated in crumbs.
Took a long time to get used to the battered variety south of the Murray.

      Crumbed is what I grew up with.
      Feels less oily than batter, but probably isn’t.
      It’d have to be good batter.
      BTW, the fish we generally ate was called Cod, not Flake.

    Actually I think the divide is further north. The fish we ate as children in Sydney was always battered.
