The Voice Of God Is Calling by The Gentle Wolves

Cardiphonia have released a companion album Among The Thorns to Work Songs by the Porter’s Gate Worship Project.
Actually there’s two albums with that title, each released by separate groups under the Cardiphonia umbrella.
The first album is a compilation of various singer/songwriters.
The theme of the songs has to do with Christian vocation.
The Voice Of God Is Calling by The Gentle Wolves adapts some hymn lyrics and adds a new music.

Hollow Square Hymnal by Cardiphonia

a3020891519_16Hollow Square Hymnal, Cardiphonia’s latest compilation release, is a selection of songs that have been recorded by various people, each song sharing shape-note style tunes.
Melodic and harmonic.
As usual, generous too. 22 tracks.
Have a listen.

Psalms 135-150 (Volume 2) – New Album From Cardiphonia

a4087408826_10Here’s the second album from Cardiphonia featuring songs based on Psalms 135-150.
There doesn’t seem to be much difference between the two albums, rather there were just a lot of songs.
Not all numbers 135 to 150 are represented on both albums, but there are thirty-two tracks in total.

Psalm 72 – Christmas Songs 2014 Day 17

I liked this version by Luke Brodine of Psalm 72 that was included on Cardiphonia’s Songs For The Incarnation album.
The refrain is verses eighteen and nineteen, the spoken verses are verses one to four and five to seven, finishing with verses eighteen and nineteen. I’m quite fond of the melody, an adaption of the folk tune ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’.
The whole album is an eclectic collection of advent and christmas themed songs.
