NRL and AFL Grand Finals.
Growing up in Brisbane through the 70s and 80s following the Brisbane Broncos was easy.
They were going to show up the Sydney teams who had taken the best of the local players away for generations
As I’ve mentioned before AFL is different.
Brisbane is not an AFL town (even now).
Their early efforts at a local team where underwhelming (and based on the Gold Coast).
It wasn’t until I moved to Melbourne in 1997, with everyone in Melbourne assuming I followed some team and it had to be Brisbane. That was it.
The fact Mordialloc appeared to be something of a catchment for Fitzroy just made it more fitting.

So, neither Brisbane team is favourite for their respective games, though both deserve to be there.
I’ll tip both, just for the fun of it.

Three of our children have been in the school’s year six musical.
Another one of our children has been a year six teacher who helped run the musical.

Tonight we saw our grandson take his turn in the musical. (His mum, who was not in a musical helped with makeup, so she’s sort of in there too)

The cohort did very well.

There’ll be another one in four years time.
The thought of another generation after this one is too much to think about.

It may not be never there, but that doesn’t mean it’s something that needs to be fixed.
