Thabiti Anyabwile, our featured speaker at the Gospel Worker’s conference at Queensland Theological College mentioned that his ‘desert island disc’ type choice was Clifford Brown with Strings.
I’ve had a copy of this for a long, long time.
Thanks to iTunes, where I’ve stored all my ripped, downloaded and online music, it turns out the last time I played it was in 2010, so listening again tonight is like a visit from an old friend.
The later at night you play this album the better.

Willow Weep For Me is an old standard that I’m less familiar with, so Brown’s recording is the version that I think of as my default rendition of the tune.
