It’s the time of year when sides whose final positions are secure can lose their edge and those whose players are suddenly striving for next year’s contract try that bit harder. Upsets occur.
The AFL doesn’t have much space in its top eight, but apart from Richmond nobody really looks convincing. Their game this week should reveal where they’re at.
The NRL has seen the top eight well and truly clear out, but again it’s tight. Teams look like world-beaters one week and then missing in action the next. This could be Saint George’s moment of truth.
