From Kate Rusby’s 2016 Christmas album, The Frost Is All Over, Mount Lyngham is the lyrics of While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night sung to a folk tune that some of you will associate with the hymn O For A Thousand Tongues.
I’ve featured another of her renditions of these words set to another tune, Sweet Bells.
We use this version from time to time at Christmas services, but I love the clarity and purity of Kate’s vocals which make for a playfulness that suits the celebratory tone of the season.
