I Waited For The Lord My God (Psalm 40) and Lord, I Lift Your Name On High are the songs of preparation, with O Worship The King beginning worship.
The prayer of adoration and confession will thank God that we draw near to him though the indestructible life of Jesus, and express sorrow for those times we settle for anything less than Jesus.
All I Have Is Christ, The Apostles’ Creed and Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow (with Hallelujahs) will be the shared testimony and confession of faith.
In God’s word, John 3:1-36 contains Jesus teaching about the need to be born again, and we’ll think about responding to his call with the children.
Trusting the power of God’s Spirit to apply the Word to our hearts, we’ll sing Revive Us, O Lord.
After hearing Hebrews 7:11-19 the sermon will consider the better hope that is held forward in Jesus, as the writer contrasts the limits of the Levitical priesthood, with the eternal royal priesthood of which Jesus is the fulfilment. Knowing that Jesus is our mediator provides us with the assurance of an everlasting salvation, instead of the uncertainty of continuously needing sacrifices of limited duration to be offered on our behalf. We have a priest who takes away not only our guilt, but our guilt inclined natures.
We’ll watch a video from Jozua Zwijnenburg, in which he gives thanks for his healing so far; hear of the death of a beloved East Timorese pastor; and think about the needs of others then join in our pastoral prayer.
After giving our tithes and offerings worship will conclude with the singing of Lord, Be My Vision.
