Diadem is Kate Rusby’s rendition of All Hail The Power Of Jesus’ Name sung to the tune (surprise) DIADEM.
Edward Perronet’ words and James Ellor’s tune are a fine match.
We’ve been finding a lot of comfort in the reigning power of Jesus this week, and not only are these words timely, but Kate’s charming and reflective rendition is just the thing for the season of yearning we’re presently in.
If you haven’t heard me rave about Kate Rusby’s two Christmas themed recordings Sweet Bells and While Angels Sleep then you haven’t been paying attention.

1
All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ name!
Let angels never fall,
Let angels never fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
And crown Him, Lord of all.
2
Ye saints redeemed of Adam’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Ye ransomed from the fall;
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
And crown Him, Lord of all.
3
Sinners, whose love can ne’er forget
The wormwood and the gall,
The wormwood and the gall,
Go, spread you trophies at His feet
And crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
And crown Him, Lord of all.
4
O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall!
We at His feet may fall!
Join in the everlasting song,
And crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
And crown Him, Lord of all.

Listen.
