Christian life is not a solo pursuit. To finish strong in the faith Christians need the support and accountability of a community of other Christians. And those other Christians need you to help them finish well too.
A new setting for the hymn Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) will be introduced as we prepare for worship tomorrow, with This Is My Father’s World beginning our service.
After the welcome, the prayer of adoration and confession will express appreciation for the community into which we’re saved, community with the Triune God and community with other believers. Nothing Between Us, The Apostles’ Creed and Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow will be our confession of faith and assurance.
Jeremiah 42 continues the account of the exile of God’s people and the presence of God’s faithful love. Our response will be Psalm 66, O All The Earth, In Joyful Shouts.
After reading Hebrews 3:7-19, we’ll consider what it is to not finish in the faith, how great a concern it is for professing Christians and the very important role Christian community has in enabling those who trust Jesus as their Saviour to maintain that profession until the end.
After singing Behold The Lamb, we’ll share the Lord’s Supper.
As part of our pastoral prayer tomorrow we’ll seek God’s blessing upon Alan Clarkson as he travels to East Timor to represent us, and the Australian Church at the dedication of a new church building in Samaria.
Then, after giving our tithes and offerings, we’ll conclude our worship singing To God Be The Glory.
You encouraged all of us that we are not alone and we must strive together.
