AFL, 5/9: I’m prepared to concede Richmond winning was not that much of a surprise, but all the other three results defy credulity. I think Guy McKenna’s term as Gold Coast coach took a terminal blow last weekend as GWS showed the value of a couple of premiership coaches to a team.
NRL, 2/7: Okay, I was working on a hunch Paramatta could score 34 points against Canberra, I just didn’t figure they could let 40 points in. As for the others, if the same round was on this weekend I’d still pick all the same choices.
