First, and most important tip: When the game is mentioned do not call it ‘Rugby.’
As an abbreviation ‘Rugby’ is used for the game ‘Rugby Union.’ (15 players a side, loved by private school graduates and upper classes.)
The abbreviation for ‘Rugby League,’ the game played during State Of Origin is ‘League.’ (13 players a side, loved by people who need to get paid for a living.)
Don’t blame me, I didn’t make it up, that’s just the way it is.
