Life In A Day is a historic global experiment (hosted by YouTube) to create the world’s largest user-generated feature film: a documentary, shot in a single day, (July 24,2010) by members of the public who submitted their clips and which were then edited into a feature length film Executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2011.
I haven’t got time to watch the whole thing at the moment.
Maybe next week.
I saw this a couple of days ago… It was one of the most emotional film I’ve seen in a long time.
You can argue that some of it might be slightly heavy-handed (a shot of a cow being killed on camera is then, non very subtlety, cut together with a man eating from a bowl of spaghetti), but some of the choices are absolutely inspired
It’s the amalgamation of all these little snippets of life that makes the film an incredible watch and in the end it ends up actually telling a story as the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
