I really don’t spend a lot of time sick, particularly for more than one day in a row.
So having spent pretty much a whole 3-4 days flat-out sleeping is a novel experience.

The small pile of new books beside my bed is still unread, because my eyes won’t concentrate on print, and my mind wants to shut down: open book, instant unconsciousness, the only thing that could be worse would be listening to Bernie Fraser read them as books on tape.
Food smells like it always did, but much stronger and far less attractively. How does it do that? Pretty much like it’s shouting at me not to eat it. I comply.
Fruit juice is tolerable, but for some reason there’s only cranberry, and, despite never having really drunken the stuff, I don’t like cranberry juice. Well I did try half a glass last night, and it sort of tasted like what I thought it would, but probably not as bad. But I’m sick, so I can’t trust that judgement.
My two sons are both sick with flu as well. This is not really a bonding thing, because three people in a room with flu is not bonding, it’s just three sick people in a room. Really. Unless there was a full-time nurse pampering us. Which there isn’t. They’re inhabiting the lounge area of the house, and I don’t think either of them would like a West Wing marathon. So home entertainment hasn’t been an option.
The blogosphere is a bit quiet at the moment, particularly the Australians that I keep an eye on. I’m not sure whether that’s because they’re all on holidays or they’ve all decided not to share every single thought they have about every subject with the whole world. That’s the problem, isn’t it? You want thoughtful, reflective bloggers to read and then they go off and get all thoughtful and reflective on you without blabbing about the whole experience incessantly.
At times I’m only vaguely aware of the comings and goings in the household and everyone’s interpersonal relatings. That’s good, cause I’m not up to playing co-ordinator or referee at the moment. Fascinatingly, my third daughter’s voice is becoming less distinguishable from my second daughter’s voice. Maybe it’s just the fever.
Hey, one of the last things I did as a whole person was download Reformed Praise’s new album Merciful To Me. I’ve had it playing here several times over the last couple of days and its okay.

Anyway, it’s been fun posting odds and ends on here. Doesn’t take a heap of extended concentration and it means I move around a bit.
I am starting to feel better, though.
Sunday’s coming.

Obviously you picked something up at the GAA. Congregationalists are healthier because they don’t have to attend such things. Hope you bounce back soon.
