First meal on leave was suggested (ordered) by eldest daughter. Having lunch in a supermarket might sound ordinary (or bring to mind ideas of rifling through packets in the aisles) but if you’re in the Pasadena Foodland it involves sitting at a table with cloth napkins partaking of fresh Smokey Bay oysters, beautifully prepared scallops (from Hervey Bay) and a celebratory glass of Pol Roger. It was delightful. And each mouthful felt like a holiday in itself.
