December 28 is a day on which some parts of the church observe a remembrance of the event recorded in Matthew’s Gospel as the massacre of the innocents.
Stuart Townend’s song We Have Sung Our Songs / How Long? is one of few contemporary songs that makes reference to mourning the contemporary lack of protection for the most vulnerable. It is a longing for the coming of a better world.
Here’s a couple of renditions, one from Townend and another by Lou Fellingham.
