As I wrote before, a new season should be recognised so it can be entered well.
Yesterday our eldest child moved into her own home.
She has lived away from home before, when she was studying, but this time we’re not anticipating a return.
The life she is making for herself is one that brings us great pleasure and pride.
She’s a valued member of the teaching staff at her school, and a loved part of our church.
Observing her organise a mortgage and purposefully work through a house build on her own (with strategic support from her mum and sister) has been very satisfying.
Here at home, her room itself was empty only for a few hours.
One of her siblings has claimed it as a reward for existing in the smallest bedroom for the last few years.
He’s very, very happy. (And was very motivated to help his sister move house yesterday, for some reason.)
And our empty (small) fourth bedroom?
Contrary to previous notions it’s not going to become a sewing room (and it’s too small to be a home theatre anyway).
That’s going to become the room our grandson sleeps in when he’s here.

One thing about new seasons is that you just have to wait and see how they’ll unfold.
