Annie Lennox had an interesting album of Christmas songs out a couple of years ago.
See Amid The Winter’s Snow is a song I enjoy singing.
Annie’s version is very nice. It can be sung reflectively, as here, or brightly.
As is common with a lot of older hymns, Edward Caswell’s lyrics can be found in various configurations, with verses omitted or altered.

The lyrics:
1.
See amid the winter’s snow,
Born for us on earth below,
See, the gentle Lamb appears,
Promised from eternal years.
Refrain:
Hail that ever blessed morn,
Hail redemption’s happy dawn,
Sing through all Jerusalem:
Christ is born in Bethlehem.
2
Say, ye holy shepherds, say,
What your joyful news today.
Wherefore have ye left your sheep
On the lonely mountain steep?
Refrain.
3
Sacred infant, all divine
What a tender love was Thine
Thus to come from highest bliss
Down to such a world as this.
Refrain.
