Following on from the situation mentioned here, the congregation now known as The Tron Church, Glasgow have left their place of worship and relocated to another venue.
The outcome of the situation, though flowing from a different process than that experienced by Australian Presbyterians 35 years ago, does raise very similar feelings among many people over here.

Here’s a couple of media reports, one from scotsman.com: Tears as Tron congregation leave church for last time; and another from heraldscotland: Out of tune with the Kirk, a defiant departure hymn

The Church of Scotland have issued a statement about the situation: Statement on St George’s Tron
David Robertson takes that statement out the back of the woodshed and gives it a paddling in a piece entitled The Kirk Without the People. It should be noted that Robertson’s piece is not intended as a blanket endorsement of The Tron Church.

Louis Kinsey at Coffee With Louis provides a response from within the CoS, calling for an independent inquiry into the whole matter.

Update: Steve Salyards offers typically thorough summary at GA Junkie.
