So, (very) early Tuesday morning we are leaving for an overnight excursion to the Siakobvu region/township (pronounced ‘see-ah-ko-voo’).
This area, about 500kms away from Harare, has been a mission focus area of the Highfields Congregation for some six years now.
The members have shown the Jesus Video and engaged in evangelistic outreaches, and an evangelist has been resident in the area since 2008.
Jeroen and I are traveling with Isaac and Ralios to see the region, look at various sites where a house and church may be constructed, and, tomorrow night, God willing, the Jesus Video (dubbed in local dialect) will again be shown using a data projector, amplifier and a generator which we will be taking with us. We’ll meet the resident evangelist and the pastor whose parish includes this district.
The availability of vehicles has been a loose end (flexible), accommodation has been secured, and we are taking some food which will be cooked for us.
I expect we’ll be offline from until sometime late Wednesday.
