I’ve taken this post from my daughter’s blog so you can all keep up with the latest on our grandson, Elijah.
Elijah has two completely devoted parents who make us very proud.
Elijah and I are in hospital for a few days. He needs to start a medication to shrink the birth mark on his lip. Without it, the mark will continue to grow and will eventually deform his upper lip, impeding feeding, eating and talking. I’m not sure how lying he will be on the medication for, a friend’s daughter in the same medication has to have it until she is 1. Hopefully we will know more details soon.
This morning we came in, got admitted and then completed the base line tests. He had his pulse, breaths, blood sugar, blood pressure and weight recorded, and an ECG was taken.
He love the sucrose drink they gave him while pricking his heel for the blood sugar test. He was so brave, and didn’t cry at all; not even when the nurse had to squeeze his heel to get enough blood in the test strip.
The ECG didn’t bother him at all. The trick was keeping him still long enough to get a correct reading.
All of the test results were fine. So far he is a healthy and happy little boy. Hopefully he will stay that way. I’m so proud of him. ❤
